For the state of florida, is not required, but..

It is advisable after new construction within the first year to do an inspection to ensure that they have built the walls correctly. If done within this first year, the construction company will be required by Florida law to either fix, or repay any costs incurred to fix the wall to what was required on the plans.

Also, after a couple of years constantly having contractors running wires, pipes, and other penetrations through the wall results in the need to have walls repaired.

We repair the walls. Unfortunately, we cannot, due to the requirement of having a contractors license, make a wall from the ground up. We fill holes, repair sections, and ensure that all penetrations are correctly protected as required in NFPA 221, and Florida’s Building Code.

Note: Any and all penetrations that are not adequately protected are listed as a deficiency, and have repercussions that come from the different agencies that govern your particular business. These can include Fire Marshals, Health Officials, Building Officials, and Insurance Inspectors.
